Book Discussion Group  will meet on Thursday, Dec. 11,  2:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m.
"Pearl" by Mary Gordon will be discussed when the Library Book Group next meets on Thurday, Dec. 11 at 2:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7:30p.m.  "On Christmas night of 1998, Maria Meyers learns that her twenty-year-old daughter, Pearl, has chained herself outside the American embassy in Dublin, where she intends to starve herself to death."  The Seattle Times reviewer comments "“Superb. . . . Monthly Monday Movie at 10:30 a.m.
Once a month Susan Landau selects and projects the best films with the large screen video projector.  Thanks to the Friends of the library for the large screen video projector and the license required to show the films.

United for the Christmas holidays, King Henry II (Peter O"Toole) and his wife (Katharine Hepburn) match wits over the succession to his throne.  The film earned Oscars for best actress, best original score and best screenplay.  1968  134 min

Jan. 5  The Lady Vanishes
May Whitty plays Miss Froy, a kindly old woman who disappears while on a train bound for England.  Based on Ethel Lina White's novel "The Wheel Spins," this classic mystery/thriller is considered by many to be one of Hitchcock's finest British films.  1938 99 min.

In order to offer our community the rich information resources on the World Wide Web, the library provides free Internet access with terminals available for adults on Level D and for children in the Children's Room as well as free wi-fi access throughout the library.
